The Divina Pastora Chair of Adapted Sports in the Universitat de València (CDPDAUV) organised the last month of February, in Universitat Jaume I (UJI) de Castelló, a technical session to promote goalball, the frame of the programme 'Chair in centres', which counted with the support of the Sports Service of the UJI.

The session, which took place in the sports pavilion, was dedicated to the only paralympic sport created specifically for blind people or with vision impairment.

Led by Rosana López and Vicente Javier Juan, belonging to the goadball selection of the Universitat de València, the session gave the opportunity to know first-hand this paralympic discipline.

The session was divided into two parts: The first part, with an educational aspect, introduced the goalball throughout the basic characteristics of the rules, as well as the Regional University Sports Championship (CADU) of 2017, which will be played the next 29 March at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche. The second part, merely practical, included the teams’ organisation, the play and application and rules comprehension.

The inclusive approach offered by those responsible of this seminar specifically for blind people or with vision impairment was well received by the students, which allowed the participation of all attendees, a total of 58, among which 34 were women and 24 men.
