The Association of Neighbours of Benimaclet commemorates its 45 years organizing a round table on the potentialities of development of an innovative urbanism with the participation and initiative of the neighbourhood movement. The debate will take place on Thursday 2 May, at 7 p.m., in the Aula Magna of the Cultural Centre La Nau of the Universitat de València.

According to the organisers, the experience of the PAI Benimaclet Est is a good example of how the citizens' associative movement is capable of making urban planning proposals rooted in sustainable and more democratic neighbourhoods. Beyond this, the daily work of the neighbourhood associations is fundamental for the well-being of people in the cities, as has been shown in the district of Benimaclet with the various struggles of neighbours since 1974.

Participating in the round table are sociologist and urban planner Jordi Borja, architects and urban activists Tania Magro and David Estal, neighbourhood leader María José Broseta, and Antonio Pérez, president of the Benimaclet Neighbourhood Association.
