Erasmus students arrive for the second semester

873 Erasmus students from European universities will join our university in the second semester of the academic year 2022-23.

In order to make them feel supported when they arrive at our institution, the International Relations and Cooperation Service is holding a welcome session that will take place at the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Medicine on Friday 27 January. At 9:30 a.m. the session will be addressed to students joining the degree courses located at the Blasco Ibáñez Campus, while at 12:00 p.m. the session will be for students enrolled in the degree courses at Tarongers and Burjassot Campuses.

In both welcome sessions there will be an introductory presentation of the University by the International Relations Service and arrival certificates will be given. In addition, the active participation of several services of the University is expected through information stands. The Sports Service, the Language Centre and the Languages and Language Policy Service are some of the services that have confirmed their presence.

This activity also counts on the collaboration of the Erasmus ESN (Erasmus Students Network). This association, the largest in Europe in terms of number of students, will have its own stand and will collaborate in the welcome sessions.

The sessions are the first meeting point for these international students before the start of their studies on January 30th.

Our university is the European leader in the reception of Erasmus students. This academic year, a total of 2,773 Erasmus students will follow their studies at the University of Valencia, which represents a historical record figure in the reception of Erasmus students in our institution. Italy, Germany and France are, in that order, the countries that send more students to follow their studies in our institution.

These Erasmus students also include more than 100 students from the other 8 European universities that are part of the alliance of European universities "FORTHEM". This semester, specific activities will be held with the aim of favouring their cultural and social integration. In this sense, a specific welcome session for the students of the "FORTHEM Campus" will be held on 2 February at 13:30 at the Faculty of Psychology.

Likewise, this semester we will also welcome incoming students from other non-European countries participating in the international programme and students from the SICUE national exchange programme, coming from Spanish universities.

The faculties are also organising specific welcome sessions for each centre in which students will receive more specific information from their host centres.
