Exposició Inspirats pel Botànic
Primer premio de la modalidad de pintura, obra de Alícia Ramírez.

The Estufa Fría of the Botanical Garden of the Universitat de València hosts the exhibition '(Ins)Pirats pel Botànic', with a selection of the best works that participated in the third edition of the fast painting and narrative contest of the same name held on 2 June. During the whole summer it can be visited this exhibition, curated by Núria Ferriol, with pieces of painting and narrative in different styles, techniques and visions on the same space: a living museum such as the Botanical Garden.

The exhibition (Ins)Pirats pel Botànic aims to disseminate and recognize the work done by the people participating in the contest who have dedicated a few moments of their lives to leave InsPire for all that the Botanist offers. The contest event brought together more than seventy participants, despite the rain, who wanted to know the corners of the Botanical Gardens better and to make the most of the unique atmosphere of creativity and shared inspiration in a day that ended with a concert by the Valencian group Linqae and the award ceremony (watch video).

Of course, the exhibition also has the two works awarded in the two modalities of the contest. In painting, the work of Alícia Ramirez, a rain enthusiast, won first prize with a painting inspired by the crass plant corner of the Garden, executed with a delicate play of gradients, lights, colours and sensations that captivated the jury. In narrative, was Susana Rodríguez who won the first prize, with a story about a child diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder who finds in the plant world a refuge and a unique way of relating to his loved ones.

Furthermore, Loreto Lumbreras and Laura Vázquez won the second prize in the painting category, with a bucolic watercolour of Indian cress (Tropaeolum majus) and a minimalist vegetable collage, respectively. Delia Arizcun and Luis Bertomeu, were the second prize of the narrative category, with a curious futuristic conversation between plants and a charming allegory inspired by meteorological phenomena, respectively.

Finally, the exhibition also hosts the drawings created by the children who attended the drawing course El nostre jardí secret given by Maria García Calvo. Graphite, Indian ink, watercolour, all applied to the observation of plants, trees and corners that make up the Botanical. The works exhibition aims to spread the same message as in the course: you have to observe and know the natural environment in order to love it.
