Thus, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. hours, the visiting public will be able to walk around the fair (located outdoors and under a roof, check location here), see the different projects and ask questions about their work to the responsible students of the 37 admitted projects, half of physics and the other half of technology. The virtual audience will also be able to watch the projects and follow the explanations through a streaming broadcast.

Anyone (face-to-face or virtual) can vote for their favorite project between 10.30 am and 1 pm, using a mobile phone to receive an SMS, and via the link https://voto-experimenta.surge.sh/.The most voted project will receive the audience award.

Simultaneously, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and in the same location, the Fisicalandia children’s workshop will take place, in which girls and boys will be able to assemble and understand simple demonstrations of physics.

At the fair-contest on April 25, anti-COVID measures were applied, including limitation of global capacity (with flow control) and by table, as well as those of distance. The projects will be explained by students from ESO, Baccalaureate and training cycles, who have devised and assembled them with the help of the teachers who have mentored each proposal.

Among the projects presented at the fair, five prizes will be awarded, four of them valued at € 300 and the most voted by the visiting public, with 200. Several honourable mentions will also be awarded. In addition, prizes will be awarded to the departments of teachers with winning projects: materials for the assembly of physics or technology experiences. The organising committee of the event emphasises that the proper functioning, the correct understanding of the work by the contestants and the clarity of the explanations will be the most valued aspects. The awards ceremony will be held at a later date, with a protocol that complies with anti-COVID prevention measures.

The coordinator of Experimenta is Chantal Ferrer Roca, professor of Applied Physics and Electromagnetism at the University of Valencia, and the organising committee is also made up of professors Miguel V. Andrés Bou, Jordi Vidal and professor Amparo Pons Martí.

This initiative has a competitive project of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology of the Ministry of Science and Innovation (FECYT-MICINN) in addition to the collaboration of other entities, such as the City of Valencia, the IFIC, the Royal Spanish Society of Physics, the Archimedes Physics Working Group, the Equality Unit (UV), the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit, the Delegation for Incorporation into the UV, the Equality Unit, Expociència of the Science Park, ScienceFlows, the Science Museum of Valencia and external entities such as Caixa Popular, APTCV, Analog Devices, PRODEL, Ventus and IPN-Bio.
