The fifth edition of ‘Sons al Botànic’ begins on Friday, the 5th of April, with the performance of the mythical Sr. Chinarro, the first one to perform in Los Magnolitos square in the Botanical Garden of the Universitat de València. The festival, organised by the Botanical Garden along with &Sons and Saltarinas and with the Turia beer sponsorship, can make a small urban forest in the heart of the city of Valencia, to play the best of current indie-alternative music and has become the quintessential cycle of outdoor acoustic concerts. The special edition of this year comes along the exhibition Creant la imatge de Sons al Botànic of the artist Fransept.

Sons al Botànic is a musical cycle of six concerts which take place on Fridays and at the sunset, and bring us closer to the best alternative music in a unique environment, the Botanical Garden of the Universitat.  This year, the protagonists are: the powerful lyrics and elegant melodies of Sr. Chinarro, one of the biggest artist of the national scene; the melodic and energetic pop of Full; the sensual songs that sprout from nature by Sandra Bernardo; the talented and charismatic voice of Paco de Román of Neuman; the American notes of bluegrass that is taking by storm the Valencian scene of Badlands with the voice of May Ibáñez and Vodevil de poble, cabaret valencià by Landete and Endika from Senior i el Cor brutal.

Furthermore, the cycle comes along the exhibition Creant la imatge de Sons al Botànic with the works created by the artist Fransept on the creation of the cycle’s posters.  The inspirational and seductive guitar inside of a leaf has become the identity mark which identifies the cycle Sons al Botànic and which created interest in the public who follows this yearly, intimate and unique date. The sample gathers all the botanical inspiration behind the five editions of the cycle to show this proposal that combines urban music and nature to the public every year.

Sons al Botànic is the Botanical Garden of the Universitat de València proposal to give more value to this space of science and dissemination and to turn it into the most special place of the city to listen to music outdoors.
