Five UV teams on the way to the CEU

Teams of the Universitat de València played on Thursday the concluding round of the Autonomic Championship of the University Sports organised by the CEU Cardenal Herrera University. The women’s football team already had a guaranteed place in the University Spain Championship, as well as men’s and women’s basketball teams. Nevertheless, masculine and feminine rugby 7 players got their place in the CEU and won the autonomic championship, both teams got the gold medal.
The men's indoor football and handball teams could not get their place in the CEU. The indoor football masculine players lost to the Universitat Politècnica de València and the basketball team, in spite of putting their all into the match, could not defeat the team from Miguel Hernández University and finished the match with 24 points against the 27 of the opposing university.
The day also included the autonomic final of paddle tennis teams, where the UV team finished as the winner against the Universitat Jaume I, winning in all categories (feminine, masculine and mixed).
Next CEUs teams
The CEU national sport competitions are: basketball on 21 April in Burgos, football on 19 May in Burgos, rugby 7 on 20 April in Valladolid, and regarding paddle tennis, the national competition takes place on 21 April in Valladolid.
