Former Minister of Industry, Miguel Sebastián, gives a conference about Spain and the Eurozone in ‘La Nau’

The former Minister of Industry, Tourism and Trade, Miguel Sebastián Gascón, will give the conference ‘España en el euro: un balance de 20 años’ on the 1st of April, in the ‘Aula Magna’ of the Cultural Centre ‘La Nau’ at 7p.m. in the cycle ‘Las razones de Europa.’ The entry is free until seating capacity.

In the debate, Sebastián will analyse the situation of Spain since its integration in the euro. The economist will show a macroeconomic of the twenty years of Spain using the euro, in which he will include a comparative with other countries. He will also include an agenda of reforms to improve our position in the Eurozone.

Miguel Sebastián Gascón is licensed in Economic and Business Sciences by the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) and doctor in Economy in the University of Minnesota (EUA). He has been the deputy director of the magazine ‘Moneda y crédito’ and currently he is a professor of Economic Analysis in the UCM and proprietary director of INDRA. He has worked in the Ministry of Economy and Finance, in the Studies Service of BBVA and has been a member of the editorial board of ‘Expansión.’ He has also collaborated with several newspapers like for example ‘20 minutos’ or ‘El independiente’ and is a founding partner for the platform to boost electric cars. About his political career, he has been the Minister of Industry, Tourism and Trade since 2008 until 2011 with the government of PSOE.

This act, part of the cycle ‘Las razones de Europa’, is organised by the  Escola Europea de Pensament Lluís Vives along with the Office of the Vice-Principal for Equality, Diversity and Sustainability and the Equality Unit of the Universitat de València; and with the collaboration of Conselleria de Transparencia, Responsabilidad Social, Participación y Cooperación.

The Escola Europea de Pensament Lluís Vives is a cultural project, driven by the Office of the Vice-Principal for Culture and Sports, managed by the General Foundation of the Universitat de València, established as a space for reflection and participative and critical debate about current matters.
