Gemma Pastor, new director of the University Centre for Diagnosis and Primary Care of the Universitat

The Principal of the Universitat de València, María Vicenta Mestre, has recently announced the appointment of Gemma Pastor, Tenured Professor of Psychology, as the new director of the University Centre for Diagnosis and Primary Care (CUDAP) of the Universitat de València. The aim of the CUDAP is to meet the needs of those families with children presenting a neurodevelopmental disorder or the risk of presenting it.

The Centre has been established by a collaboration agreement between the Universitat de València and the Valencian Department of Social Welfare signed in 2008. The Universitat de València adapted the old school of physiotherapy to the new service of Diagnosis and Primary Care in the facilities of the street calle Guardia Civil, opening its doors in September of that year. Currently the centre assists about 160 families per year.

Gemma Pastor Cerezuela is a tenured professor in the Department of Basic Psychology at the Universitat de València. Her line of research is the field of Neuropsychology and Neurodevelopmental Disorders, especially the Autism Spectrum Disorder, being part of the research team INVTEA (registered group in the Register of Research Structures of the Universitat de València). She has published articles in scientific journals of international impact, has directed doctoral theses on the subject and has participated in research projects funded by competitive calls. Lecturer for the degree in Psychology, the degree in Speech Therapy and the master's degree in Special Education at the Universitat de València.
