The General Foundation of the UV is the new member of the Executive Committee of the Spanish Network FAL

The General Foundation of the Universitat de València (FGUV) has become a member of the Executive Committee of the Spanish Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation (ReFAL) in the foundation’s annual meeting celebrated this week in Casa Árabe in Madrid. The general Foundation has been represented by its general manager, Cristóbal Suria.

In the meeting there was a voting for the renewal of three members of the Executive Committee of ReFAL in which FGUV (www.fundaciouv.es), was the most voted candidate. Therefore, this entity together with Observatori Blanquerna de Comunicació, Religió i Cultura (www.obsblanquerna.com) and the Associació Azarquiel (http://azarquiel.esy.es). 

ReFAL is coordinated by the European Institute for Mediterranean (IEMed), where its headquarters can be found. It represents the Anna Lindh Foundation in Spain. This entity was created to promote regional initiatives that defend a better understanding between people, religions and beliefs, as well as human rights and democracy. The Spanish Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation is made up by more than 130 organizations.

The General Foundation of the Universitat de València, as a member of the executive committee, will provide the rest of entities with its experience in different work groups of university foundations of a national level, as well as in projects management. Furthermore, FGUV is member of the Executive Board of the Spanish Association of Foundations (AEF) and of the Coordination Committee of the Regional Board of Foundations of the Valencian Community. All this will contribute to the improvement of the network’s flux with the support of a multidisciplinary management team.

The objective of the General Foundation of Universitat de València is to create a more active and greater quality FAL network; to strengthen the link between the network’s partners by promoting the joint work between the national and international partners; to increase the visibility of the network’s projects in the social and cultural contexts through social networks by promoting a strong corporative image as well as the presence and positioning of news in the Valencian media.

About the General Foundation of Universitat de València

General Foundation of Universitat de València was constituted in 1983 to cooperate in the compliance of the objectives of Universitat de València. It is an open door of Universitat de València to society, beyond its teaching and researcher mission, and its activity is present in very different areas: arts, culture and heritage; awareness on diversity; cooperation to development; training; research and disclosure; job placement; participation at UV; and image promotion.

Moreover, General Foundation is part of the several foundation networks, the Regional Network Labour Market Monitoring, to support a better work network in Europe; the Valencian Coordinator of ONGD, in charge of coordinating the activities of ONGD; and the Spanish Association of Crowdfunding, to promote crowdfunding as a valuable and viable formula to Spanish firms and projects for entrepreneurship.

Cristóbal Suria is the main person in charge. He is graduated in Economic Sciences by Universitat de València and has two Master’s Degrees, one in Accounting and Account Audits, and the other in Taxation. He has worked as statutory auditor in KPMG, carrying out audits on national firms and multinational corporations of different sectors. Furthermore, he has taken part in sectorial economic and financial analysis studies of companies of the Valencian Community immersed in technological innovation projects through IMPIVA.

As an expert in foundations management, he has taught courses and conferences on budgets and programmes, associationism or patronage and sponsorship in university conferences, meetings, and master’s degrees.
