Joan Veny, Pau Alabajos and Rubén Trenzano, on Wednesday in the commemoration of the 40 years of the Department of Catalan Language

A presentation by Joan Veny, a performance by Pau Alabajos and the testimony of Rubén Trenzano continue, on Wednesday 14, with the commemorative events of the 40 years since the creation of the Department of Catalan Language in the UV. The activities will start at 18 in the Sanchis Guarner room of the Faculty of Language Studies, Translation and Communication.
The department was created by Manuel Sanchis Guarner in 1976. Until that moment, Sanchis Guarner himself, first full university professor of Valencian Linguistics, boosted extra-curricular Valencian courses. Previously, there were seminars and other initiatives aborted by Franco’s dictatorship.
Joan Veny, honorary doctor by the UV, full university professor of the University of Barcelona and member of the Institut d’Estudis Catalans, has given his intervention the title ‘Paraules de l’espai’ (Words of the space). Antoni Ferrando will do the presentation (18 hours).
Then, it will speak Rubén Trenzano, managing director of Language Policy and Multilingualism Management.
Finally, Pau Alabajos will perform.
