The exhibition will be organised by ‘Projecte PRADO’ ant the vice-principal for Equality, Diversity and Sustainability.

The Objectives of Sustainable Development  (ODS) were passed on a General Assembly of the United Nations in 2015, together with the Agenda in order to start with the project between 2016 and 2030. They were the result of major efforts in which the rates of participation were high. They finally agreed 17 major objectives, which, as a whole, have 169 specific purposes trying to cover the interlinked social-environmental problems. Thus, they try to face the reality, preventing that the time block their achievement.

Apart form their purposes of ending with poverty in the world, the ODS include rooting out the hunger and reaching food safety, guaranteeing a healthy life and quality education; achieving the gender equality; encouraging the universal access to education; ensuring access to water and energy; promoting the sustainable development; taking urgent steps against the climate change; promoting peace and enabling the access to justice, etc.  (https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/es/).

In order to contribute to developing these objectives, the ‘Projecte PRADO’, together with the vice-principal for Equality, Diversity and Sustainability of the Universitat de València, have organised an exhibition whose purpose is to develop the knowledge, the boost and the dissemination of the ODS among the educative community so that they get involved in the development of responsible citizens, who could be aware of the problems that the humanity faces and could be prepared to participate and take the necessary actions. Moreover, this citizenship should be able to take informed decisions allowing the likely transsition to fairer and more sustainable societies.

One of the main purposes of the exhibition is to encourage a collective thinking on what the ODS imply, so that they raise awareness of the importance of their development.  The objectives of this exhibition are convergent with the current needs, such as the incorporation of this Agenda to universities 2030 plan, including every of its strategies, policies and actions, directly or transversely. Thus, they contribute to the sensitisation and awareness of the whole university community regarding the integration of the Sustainable Human development in the Universitat de València.

The 2030 ODS exhibition will be accessible for the educative community so that, apart from taking advantage of it for the university, it could be used in other centres, such as Secondary Education where a lot of teachers carry out their work.

The exhibition has been designed in light and easy-to-use supports, facilitating their relocation in the different educative centres.

The purposes of the exhibition are raising awareness of the social-environmental problems and the challenges we face glocally (both locally and globally); making known the ODS, in order to reach the overriding objective for 2030, the transition to sustainability; encouraging those who teach wherever and citizenship, generally, so that they take the necessary actions to reach the ODS and to create fairer and more sustainable societies. Furthermore, the purposes also include encouraging the goals and indicators allowing follow-up the advantages; and thinking about the background of the necessary educative actions in the different fields of knowledge so that the care of Sustainability is included in the CV.

Another main goal is to appreciate and value the importance of the individual actions and collective actions; to analyse the responsibilities of each of us, the citizens, associations, companies, governments in the achievement of the objectives proposed though ODS, hoping a greater implication; to understand the links of each of the ODS, so we understand the importance of the ODS 4. In addition, it is fundamental that we raise our awareness regarding the role of educators, wherever they teach. Educators have an essential responsibility teaching the need of a positive pressure to go further in the ODS achievement.
