Hundreds of students and graduates have met on Tuesday, October 24, at the Law School foyer (Tarongers Campus) on the occasion of XII Employment Forum of the Universitat de València. Along three days (24, 25 and 26), over 80 companies and institutions will be present with their stands in the three university campuses, where about 60 activities will be developed.

The first visits began at 9 a.m. and by mid-morning the Forum became a coming and going of dozens of students and recent graduates looking for information on scholarships, internships and job offers specialized in the  Economics, Legal and Social Sciences and Education areas.

The school of Law was the first Forum scene with 44 stands and 18 talks in the graduation hall and in the Joaquín Tomás Villarroya hall. Furthermore, it hosted the opening ceremony presided by the principal of the Universitat de València, Esteban Morcillo, accompanied by the Vice -principal of Postgraduate Studies, Rafael Crespo; the Director General for Planning and Services of SERVEF, Eva María Hernández; the general coordinator of the Sustainable Economic Development Area of the Valencia City Council, Enric Roig; the Deputy for European Projects, Central of Innovative and Sustainable Services and recruitment of the Valencian Deputation, Bartolomé Nofuentes; and the director of OPAL, Vicent González Romá; in addition to the deans teams of the Campus faculties and other university authorities.

In order to cover labour supply of all degrees of Universistat de València, the Forum moves today, 25th, to the Burjassot-Paterna Campus. The Pharmacy School will host stands of 27 companies and institutions specialized in science and health areas. Moreover, fifteen talks on scholarships, employment abroad and professional development, among other topics, will be celebrated over the day. These talks will take place at Pharmacy, Mathematical Sciences and Physics faculties from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The Engineering area
As every year, the Forum will be present at the Escola Tècnica Superior d’Enginyeria-ETSE. On Thursday 26, from 9 a.m to 3 p.m, 35 companies and institutions will be installed, and there will be 17 talks on outside internship, young talents, labour counseling or professional development, for example.

This closing day the Forum will be divided into two parts: 14 institutions and companies will also visit the Faculty of Language Studies, Translation and Communication, at the Blasco Ibáñez Campus, where eight activities will take place between 9:30 a.m and 6 p.m. This space will be aimed to students and graduates of the Campus interested in the educational area.

The Speed Café will return, an experience that started last year consisting of locating employers and candidates in a relaxed atmosphere that allows them to talk, while they drink coffee, about professional opportunities in the labor market, skills development and entrepreneurship, for example. This year, the activity will be carried out with companies from the education sector, from 14 p.m to 6 p.m, in the Cultural Space and in the Meeting Room of the Faculty.

The Employment Forum of the Universitat de València, organized by the Observatori d'Inserció Professional i Assessorament Laboral-OPAL, is a communication bridge between Valencian companies and institutions, and between graduates and undergraduates; a meeting point for the exchange of face-to-face information with those responsible for industry, commerce and services of Valencia, which serves to bring the worlds of business and the university closer.
