La Nau hosts a debate on data science during the Claustre Obert programme

Professor of Electronic Engineering at the Universitat de València Emilio Soria and the director of Prensa Ibérica's Big Data Matías Barra will participate in the round table 'Ciència de dades: el repte del coneixement' which will take plane on Monday, February 11th at La Nau Cultural Centre (18:30 h). Universitat de València's vice-principal for Culture and Sport, Antonio Ariño will moderate this debate during the Claustre Obert programme. Attendance is free until the room is filled to capacity.

Claustre Obert is an elaborated programme run by the office of the Vice-principal for Culture and Sports of the Universitat de València and the Levante-EMV newspaper. The purpose of this space is for it to be an open meeting point for debate for everyone in which social and economical reality can be analysed thought a series of lectures that will take place the second Monday of every month until December at La Nau. This innitiative was born in collaboration with El País and was picked up on June 2016 with  Levante-EMV to study current topics and problems.

In this round table, the speakers will explain the evolution and mechanisms used in one of the most promising current professions, based on the analysis and interpretation of big data bases through the use of stadistics and computing science.

Coinciding with Fallas, on March 11th one of the meetings will be dedicated to the traditional booklets. During the whole month, the Cultural Centre of La Nau will hold an exhibition for these Fallas booklets.

In April, Monday 8th, lecturers Joaquín Azagra and Francisco José Goerlich will give a conference called ‘València rica, València pobra’.

May and June will be dedicated to the electoral process of the 26th of May. There will be one previous debate to these elections, on May 13th, and another one afterwards, on June 3rd, that will expect the attendance of experts that come from the university and the magazine, among others.
