Humboldt System: Think/Paint was opened on 10 February and will stay as such until 10 May. The exhibition is organised to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the invention of the scientific method defined by Francis Bacon. It features a number of artistic works, including a series of large format paintings of Nuria Rodríguez together with pictures, videos, and objects. This artistic production placed at La Nau narrates a journey of Alexander von Humboldt around the Mediterranean region by foot and expands the existing collection of scientific posters about natural history.

This Prussian naturalist compiled much scientific knowledge having combined science and art. A geographer, cartographer, geologist, volcanologist, sociologist, and botanist, Humboldt passed by La Nau Cultural Centre in 1799 while travelling around the Mediterranean region by foot. His studies marked the first step in scientific modalities, such as climatology, statistics, or political economics. Moreover, he has been recently claimed to have reflected on climate change and biodiversity.

The exhibition Humboldt System: Think/Paint will include an additional programme of tours with free and open access to the general public guided by Nuria Rodríguez or the working team of La Nau, which will take place between March and May. Such tours will last one hour and take place on 6 March at 7 p.m., 21 March at 12 p.m., 3 April at 7 p.m., 25 April at 2 p.m., and finally on 9 May at 12 p.m. All the information and registration form for the guided tours can be accessed following the link: http://links.uv.es/ih3zKoF
