‘Miento, luego existo’ (I lie, therefore I am) is the title of the conferences that the Cultural Centre La Nau of the UV have organised on 23 and 24 March. The aim of this activity is to study thoroughly in the lie, to find its sense, to explore its effects, to discover its influence on the cultural aspect taking into account that a lie is a lack of honesty. All the activities are free and the only requirement to have access to the ‘lie place’ is to tell a lie.

The activities will start today Thursday 23 at 18:45 in the Aula Magna of La Nau. After the mandatory lie told by the audience, the ideologist of the conferences, Vicente Cortés, will present the two aspects: the lie as reflection and debate and the lie as performance and amusement.

At 19:30 the debate ‘Entre Mentiras’ (Among lies) will start. The journalist Lola Bañón, the clinic psychologist Manuel Ramos and the architect and writer Rafael Rivera will take part in.

The following day, the lie will be at the service of the delight and the charming, as the writer Óscar Wilde claimed. After the mandatory lie told by the attendees (at 17:45) they will be able to access to Aula Magna in La Nau where ‘A Liar's Autobiography’ (2012) directed by Bill Jones, Ben Timlett, Jeff Simpson will be shown at 18:00.

At 19:30, after the projection, there will be a poetic improvisation show ‘Impro-Mentiras’ performed by Alexis Diaz Pimienta.  The tricks and deceits of the attendees will be the protagonists of this exchange of words, verses, anecdotes and laughs.
