The University of Valencia welcomes this Thursday 674 participants of the mathematical test Cangur

The Faculty of Mathematical Science in the University of Valencia and the Aulario Interfacultativo of the Burjassot/Paterna Campus welcome this Thursday (March 23rd) the tests of the mathematical contest Cangur. 674 students, of a total of 8.698 that will be participating in the Valencian territory, will do the tests in installations of the University of Valencia.

The test Cangur, created by the Societat Catalana de Matemàtiques, and organized by the respective Balear, Valencian and Catalonian committees, is an activity that marks as a goal to stimulate and promote learning mathematics through problems.

The local organization counts with representation of the University of Valencia, the University Jaume I, the Technical University -with the headquarters of the Campus of Vera, Gandia and Alcoy- and the University of Alicante. The Society of Mathematical Education Al-Khwarizmi collaborates.

In the Valencian territory there are 8.698 students of six levels registered, from the first year of ESO to the last year of high school.
