The Universitat de València voiced its support to the professional workers that extinguish the fire of Llutxent

The Universitat de València wants to express its support to the professionals of the emergency services of the Valencian Government, the Provincial Consortium of Firefighters of Valencia, the Forest Service of the Provincial Government of Valencia and the Spanish Military Emergency Unit that are currently extinguishing several active fires in the Valencian Community, especially the one in the regions of La Val d’Albaida and La Safor.
The institution has also expressed its gratitude to the Local police, National Police, Guardia Civil, Civil Defense, the Red Cross, and the local officials that are fighting the fire. In addition, the University would like to thank the Real Club Náutico de Gandia, el Museu Faller of Gandia, the Tennis Club, hotels, taxi drivers, shop-keepers and the volunteers that have helped evacuees.
The Universitat de València expresses its solidarity to the people and towns that have been affected by the fire. It also laments that 3,000 hectares have been burned in the municipal areas of Gandia, Llutxent, Ador, Quatretonda, Pinet and Barx; according to the latest perimeter.
