The Universitat de València and Plena Inclusión Comunidad Valenciana sign collaboration’s agreement

The agreement sign by Universitat de València and Plena Inclusión Comunidad Valenciana (Full Inclusion Valencian Community), both institutions expand their working commitment for the equality and inclusion principle of mental disability people in the Valencian Community.

The Principal of the Universitat de València, Mª Vicenta Mestre, and the President of Plena Inclusió de la Comunitat Valenciana (Full Inclusion Valencian Community), Mario Puerto, both institutions expand their working commitment for the equality and inclusion principle of mental disability people in the Valencian Community.  

The Principal of the Universitat de València, with the vice-Principal of Equality, Diversity and Sustainability, Elena Martínez, the Director of UV-Discapacitat (UV-Disability), Celeste Asensi, and the representative of ERI-Lectura UV (Interdisciplinary Research Structure for Reading, ERI-Reading), Inmaculada Fajardo, have participated in the formal act that have taken place in the offices of the principal and have also had the presence of the general manager of Plena Inclusión Comunidad Valenciana, Vicen Castillo Plaza.

The document makes reference to the creation of Unitat d'Integració amb Discapacitat (UPD-Unit of Integration with Disability), “through this unit will be offered to the group of students with special educational needs that comes from their disability condition and with the Disability Certificate, just as Teaching and Researching Staff (PDI) and Technical and Administration Staff (PAS), all of them with special needs that comes from their disability condition”.

Additionally, as the UV as Plena Inclusión CV are committed, with this signing, to carry out the programmes and training activities; to promote information and awareness campaigns regarding the essential characteristics of the inclusive education; to establish the needed mechanisms in order to promote the full inclusion and the access to the education university system of the people with mental disability; to give mutual support; to collaborate through information and bibliography exchanging; and to promote the participation in activities that as Plena Inclusión CV as Universitat de València develop for the future.
