The principal of the University of Valencia, Mª Vicenta Mestre, will once again be a member of this international university association after the Extraordinary Assembly held online last April 21.

Due to the necessary adjustments carried out because of the health situation caused worldwide by COVID-19, the association, which brings together almost 250 institutions from 22 Ibero-American countries, held its Ordinary General Assembly and an Extraordinary General Assembly online.

The elections for the highest executive body of the association were held during the Extraordinary General Assembly. AUIP elected the members of the new Executive Committee, made up of 20 institutions, which will carry out management and representation functions of the association in accordance with its statutes.

The committee will be chaired for the next three years by the principal of the University of Seville (Spain), Miguel Ángel Castro Arroyo, together with institutions from various countries (Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Spain, Mexico, Paraguay and the Dominican Republic). Thus, following the idea of project continuity and solidity at a time of global crisis, the principal of the University of Valencia, Mª Vicenta Mestre, will once again be a member of the association’s executive committee as one of the nine Spanish institutions and the only one belonging to the Valencian University System.
