The Universitat de València, through the office of the Vice-principal for Culture and Sports, and the City Council of Valencia, through the Regidoria de Joventut, have organised the programme 'Emergents' for the fourth consecutive year, a programme for creativity, innovation and sociocultural projects. Valued with 30,000 euros, this call of aids wants to be a push for the development of projects destined to promote social and cultural inclusion in Valencia.

The application period opens on February 8th and closes on March 7th. According to the regulatory bases of the call, these aids can be requested by any natural person aged between 18 and 35 and entities or groups in which at least 50% of their members are people of this age.

Projects comprise different fields of action: plastic arts, performing arts, music, photography, design, literature and editing, audiovisual arts, urbanism, social sciencies, techonologies, gastronomy... Detailed information about this call and the submission of applications can be done on the webpage (click here).

Since 2016, 75,500 euros have been granted on aids to 26 projects destined to the promotion of social and cultural inclusion in many vulnerable groups that reside in some neighbourhoods of the city of Valencia. This has been carried out through performing arts, pedagogy, urbanism and visual arts with the objective of raising awareness about the value of cultural education in order to foster change.

‘Emergents’ is a part of La Nau Social, a course of action of the office of the Vice-principal for Culture and Sports which includes several programmes in order to make culture more accesible, reduce inequality through sociocultural intervention and channel spontaneous cultural impetus.
