The Universitat will promote research and entrepreneurship within Legaltech area

The Universitat de València and Innsomnia Accelerator signed last Monday an agreement to promote research, entrepreneurship and training within the sphere of LegalTech. The Principal of the University, Esteban Morcillo, alongside with the professors of the Faculty of Law who are responsible of the initiative, Rafael Marimón, Jesús Olavarría and Jaume Martí; and the representatives of Insomnia, Francisco Esteban and Rafael Navarro; met in the Office of the Principal to implement the cooperation.

The agreement articulates the cooperation between the researchers of the Faculty of Law and the start-up accelerator to create technological tools applied to the legal world. The main objective is to promote the participation of students and graduates of the University in technological companies specialized in tool design. It also aims to counsel the teaching body of the University in this area. These goals will be achieve by collaborating in joint projects with the financial aid of the participating entities. The agreement anticipates conducting training and dissemination activities regarding this issue. They will be carried out in both the university and Innsomnia facilities.

Some of the particular areas in which the typical activities of the project will be developed are the smart contracts, risk maps for Compliance or InsurTech programmes.

Thanks to this initiative, the Universitat de València stands at the forefront of training, research and entrepreneurship in the world of LegalTech.
