The Principal of the Universitat de València, Maria Vicenta Mestre, has inaugurated the meeting at 17:00 at the assembly hall of La Nau, along with the president of Turisme Comunitat Valenciana; Francesc Colomer; the vice president of Diputació de València, Mercedes Berenguer; the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Society, Jorge Hermosilla and the president of the Associació de Viticultors i Productors dels Terres dels Alforins, Rafael Cambra.

Next, chef Ricard Camarera, sommelier Alberto Redrado (L’Escaleta restaurant) and oenologist Pablo Calatayud (owner of Celler del Roure), took part in a colloquium about the flavours of tha landscape, moderated by the professor of Marketing and Market Research, Amparo Cervera. Later, there was a second colloquium by the mayors of Fontanars dels Alforins, Julio Biosca; la Font de la Figuera, Vicent Muñoz; and Moixent, Teófilo Fito, who discussed involvement in the territory.

The meeting has been concluded at the senate of La Nau with an exhibition of cultural activities by the Societat Musical La Constància de Moixent and La Unió Artística Musical of Fontanars dels Alforins. The cultural programme has been completed with a tasting of wines from the wine-producers of the Associació de Viticultors i Productors de Terres dels Alforins.

This annual meeting has been organised by the Office of the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Society of the Universitat de València and Associació Terres dels Alforins, in collaboration with the Diputació de València and Turisme Comunitat Valenciana.

The Principal has claimed this kind of meeting constitutes ‘an excellent opportunity to combine academic, cultural and festive aspects between Valencian people: mayors, wine-producers, famous hotel business owners, music bands... and teaching staff’.’
