The Information and Promotion Service for Students (Sedi) of the Universitat de València is starting the registration for the eighth edition of the Entreiguals mentoring programme. This is a proposal open to all undergraduate students at the Universitat de València who want to be part of the mentoring team and accompany new access students or incoming students in their incorporation into the University in the academic year 2019-2020.

Entreiguals' priority objectives are to reduce drop-out rates, improve academic performance, promote social and political participation in the university environment and promote processes of autonomy and self-management.

The work done by mentors allows a large number of first-year and incoming students to begin the university dynamic in a simple way and helps them to understand the gear that makes the institution work.

In order to develop mentoring work, students enrolled in the program receive training sessions and the recognition of 3 ECTS credits for participation in university activities.

Since this mentoring initiative was implemented at the Universitat de València in 2012, the number of students who have decided to become mentors has not stopped growing. Currently there are 617 university mentors who have decided this year to have their experience as university students at the service of newcomers.

The programme involves the faculties of Economics, Law, Chemistry, Physics, Biological Sciences, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Sciences of Physical Activity and Sport, Psychology, Philology, Translation and Communication, Philosophy and Educational Sciences, Geography and History, Medicine and Dentistry, Nursing and Podiatry, Mathematical Sciences, Social Sciences and the Higher Technical School of Engineering. The coordination teams and tutors of each centre collaborate with the Information and Promotion Service for Students (Sedi), from where the initiative is organised.

The registration period will be open until 17 February 2019 at www.uv.es/mentors.
