Mètode, the journal of the Universitat de València for science dissemination and study, has launched a special section on its website that already has more than ten articles about SARS-CoV-2 and the current situation associated to the illness that it provokes, COVID-19.

Juli Peretó, M. Alma Bracho, Ismael Mingarro and Salvador Macip are some of the signatures of this special, with texts such as Genomes for a pandemic; Coronavirus: knowing our enemy or Learning from our mistakes.

Each week, the section grows with new articles. In this way, the aim is to guarantee a complete and in-depth monitoring of the current situation, with scientific rigour, expert sources and commitment to dissemination. Thus, the journal tries to ensure that the contact between the society and science continues and remains as a right. On the website, these articles are gathered under the title COVID-19 SPECIAL; in social networks, they can be found with the hashtag #MètodeCOVID19.

With these contents online, Mètode aims at contributing to the dissemination of science and research in this period in which dissemination is more necessary than ever. The new texts, written specifically for the current situation, are added to the open articles that can be consulted on the website of Mètode, both the archive of journals and the exclusive contents of the website: news, interviews and the sections Mètode's Whys and Wherefores  and The Two Cultures Observatory, as well as the audiovisual contents of the YouTube channel Mètode TV. Among the full issues available, there are publications that have been very successful in reading, such as the issue devoted to Science and Nazism and the special for the 100th issue, The Challenges of Science. Moreover, from this week on, the journal for the communication of science of the Universitat de València publishes online its latest issue, free of charge and in its full version. The central monograph of issue 104, The plants of the future, is dedicated to the new possibilities opened up by the application of genomic modification to the cultivation and study of plants. Coordinated by José Pío Beltrán, the monograph analyses how biotechnology will help us to face today's environmental challenges.

Dissemination of science is fundamental on a daily basis, to guarantee that citizens can have continuous access to science, from expert sources, with contextualisation, clarity and commitment. The current alarm situation emphasizes this need, this social right to have up-to-date and quality information. That is why Mètode is making a great effort to offer updated and archived online content, so that its readers can keep in touch with science, from different areas and subjects. Apart from the website, the journal also publishes contents on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and also Telegram. It is also possible the subscription to the weekly journal.
