, and furthermore, to attend the conference of the professor of Ethics and Political Philosophy in the Universitat de València, Adela Cortina, titled Aporofobia, el rechazo al pobre. Students, divided in groups, have participate in a guided tour to the Paraninf of the Universitat, built in the middle of the 17th century. They have also visited the Chapel of La Nau, which was constructed in 1498 by the renowned architect Pere Compte.

The Office of the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Society of the Universitat de València has organised this event in collaboration with the city halls that this year offer new courses of Unisocietat: Alzira, Bétera, L’Eliana, Riba-roja de Túria, Requena, Benetússer, Gandia and Ontinyent.

The Valencia Government collaborates in the activity, as well as in the programme Unisocietat, and Caixa Popular sponsors them (in ten offices) together with Caixa Ontinyent (main city of the Vall d’Albaida) and Santander bank (Gandia).

The Vice-principal for Territorial projection and Society, Jorge hermosillla, representing the Principal, Maria Vicenta Mestre, has welcomed the students to the Universitat de València and he has highlighted that Unisocietat ‘shows a compromise of the Universitat de València’ and he has ensured that it is a ‘opportune programme as the Universitat enjoys the opportunity to approach those people who are willing to study but due to distance matters they cannot. It is a way of territorialisation’.

Currently, the Unisocietat programme gathers more than 1,700 students distributed in 12 offices: Bétera and Riba-roja de Túria (since the scholar year 2018-2019), Alzira and benetússer (since the scholar year 2016-2017), paterna and requena (since the scholar year 2015-2016), l’Eliana (since the scholar year 2014-2015), Cullera, Massamagrell and Quart del Poblet (since the scholar year 2013-2014), Ontinyent (since the scholar year 2011-2012) and Gandia (since the scholar year 2007-2008, where the programm is called UniMajors- for people who is more than 50 years).
