More than 300 students of different grades will participate in the fair, specifically Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Psychology, Nursing, Nutrition and Physiotherapy, who registered massively and ran out their places in 10 minutes. The growing acceptance of this initiative not only responds to the university community, but also involves a number of external associations such as Doctors Without Borders, the Official College of Physicians of Valencia and Spanish Red Cross.

This year's theme is Health for Everyone

People who come to the fair will have the opportunity to learn about health from young students who want to bring medicine to the population free of charge.

During the day, students and professionals will be organized in dozens of tents that will aim to promote healthy habits, report on the most important health problems today and especially bring the profession closer to the citizenry. The different tents that will make up the fair will have specific themes and will offer information, advice and organisation of activities that can be carried out during the day.

Thus, in the tents there will be proposals such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques, exercises for the elderly, sign language, dermatological explorations, sugar and tension measurements, a dental workshop, ophthalmological tests, workshops on sexuality and prevention of STIs, alcoholism or drug consumption, among others. One of the most outstanding activities is the Teddy Bear Hospital, an initiative aimed at small children to become familiar with medicine and its procedures and thus lose the fear and distrust of the white coat.

But not everything will be Medicine, during the afternoon of Saturday 6 there will also be activities such as Zumba, and this year will be announced the prize for the best tent of the Health Fair XIII, so from the organization will seek the help of those who have enjoyed the day, through a vote for the best tent. Also, as every year will be distributed to attendees a magazine produced on the occasion of this celebration.

"This project aims to train the population in health so that they are aware of it and love it, and also allows the student body to have a first contact with people who will be patients in the future" explains Lorena Vila, president of the Valencian Association of Medical Students (AVEM). For his part, the vice-president of AVEM, Raul Albadalejo, recalls that after more than a decade since its inception, this Health Fair "is an opportunity to start working as a team, not only with our fellow students but also with students from the rest of Health Sciences and thus promote interdisciplinary nature in dealing with patients, which should characterise our future work".

The event is organised by the Valencia Association of Medical Students (AVEM) with the support and sponsorship of the Universitat de València and the Official College of Doctors of València.
