1.200 people, not only registered but also last-minute participants, joined last Sunday 1st October the 8th edition of the Healthy Route of La Nau Gran. This initiative comes from the University Extension Service and the Physical Education and Sports Service of the Universitat de València, which promotes the healthy, supportive and sustainable activity among the population of all ages.

This intergenerational route, which went over 3.5 kilometres from the gardens Jardí Botànic to the square Plaza Darwin of the Office of the Principal, granted 3.000 euros to the FEDER (Spanish Foundation for Rare Diseases). This organisation unites all the families with rare diseases in Spain and show their common necessities. The FEDER’s work especially focuses on providing solutions to improve the quality of life of the people who suffer a rare disease, representing their interests, defending their rights and promoting their social inclusion.

The 8th Healthy Route has a supportive and festive nature and it ended with the meeting of all the participants in the finish line so they could enjoy a nice mid-morning snack based on healthy food. The remaining food was donated to the charity Casa Caridad.

The Route counted on the cooperation of volunteers of the Physical Education and Sports Service of the Universitat de València and the Office of the Sport Volunteering of València, which were in charge of watching over the walk so it would be carried out efficiently. Other firms such as Consum, Peras Rincón de Soto, Generali, Serrano and Easy Water, as well as the gardens Jardí Botànic de la Universitat de València and the Sports Foundation of València took part in the route by cooperating and sponsoring it.

Once again, this Route reached its main goal: it served to remind the importance of carrying out a healthy life at any age.
