Concerts de Primavera

The musical spring programming of the Universitat de València, organised by the Music Club, begins today Wednesday, 5 April, with a conference-concert in the Sapiència Chapel in La Nau, at 19:30 and with a free entry. This new musical period consisting of the organization of conferences and round tables which will discover less performed and often forgotten authors. They will also be contextualised together with the melodies and the composition period of the plays.

Over the next three months, 15 concerts will be celebrated, most of them will begin at 19:30, and they will take place in the next spaces of the Universitat de València: the Sapiencia Chapel of the Cultural Centre La Nau, the Principal Peset Hall of Residence and the Botanical Garden.

‘Paraules al Concert’ (Words at the concert, in Valencian) is an initiative framed in the spring programming and which will be developed in the cycle ‘Music at the Chapel’ which takes place every Wednesday in the Sapiencia Chapel of La Nau. Thanks to conferences and round tables, composers will be discovered and will be contextualised together with the music, the age and the forms. Contemporary authors of Bach or Mahler, for instance, will be studied and the explanation for popular melodies and brilliances coming from some fusion will be looked for. In the case of the Valencian composers, apart from impressing the audience, it will be exposed their relation with poets and painters, unknown stages and platonic loves. All this with the complicity of the current performers.

Furthermore, the designed programmes for the majority of the concerts, the chamber concerts, try to serve a support line to Valencian music with the presence of Valencian performers and plays of the most distinguished Valencian composers.

Admission is free until full capacity.
