The Audiovisuals Workshop of the Universitat de València (TAU) has developed the design of the audiovisual format and carried out the executive production of the microspaces of dissemination 'La Universidad responde’ (The University answers), which is broadcast within the programme of La2 'La aventura del saber'.

Next Monday 21 January at 10:50h and under the title 'How do social changes take place?', a new piece of ‘La Universidad responde’' will be broadcast, with the intervention of Marc Baldó, Professor of Contemporary History at the Universitat de València.

‘La Universidad Responde' is a series of audiovisual microspaces with the participation of 33 Spanish universities coordinated by the CRUE (Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities) working group on Audiovisual and Multimedia Contents with the aim of presenting the main lines of research on some of the major topics of social interest.

Each informative capsule lasts two minutes and responds by a researcher to a question asked by citizens, such as 'What is a synchrotron and what is it for?', 'What applications will Quantum Physics provide in the 21st century? What is artificial intelligence?', 'What is schizophrenia and who suffers from it?', or 'What is Melatonin?'.

In total, up to 300 questions, one for each microspace, will be answered in this initiative, as a result of a co-production of the audio-visual services of 26 Spanish universities.  The universities that have worked on this initiative are the Universitat d'Alacant, Universidad de Almería, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Universitat de Barcelona, Universidad de Castilla la Mancha, Universidad de Córdoba, Universidade da Coruña, Universidad de Extremadura, Universitat de Girona, Universidad de Granada, Universitat de les Illes Balears, Universidad Internacional de Andalucía, Universitat Jaume I, Universidad de la Laguna, Universitat de Lleida, Universidad de Málaga, Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche, Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia, Universidad de Murcia, Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia UNED, Universidad de Oviedo, Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Universidad la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, Universidad de Salamanca, Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, Universidad de Sevilla, Universitat de València, Universidad de Valladolid, Universitat de Vic - Universitat Central de Catalunya, Universidad de Vigo and Universidad de Zaragoza.

‘La Universidad Responde' aims to give society a closer view of the university scientific collective, made up of researchers who work in their laboratories to develop complex theories, sometimes unintelligible to the rest of the population. The initiative aims to give an image of the university that is close, useful and connected with the needs demanded by society in the different fields of knowledge.
