The Office of the Vice-principal for Research and Science Policy is launching the new edition of the YUZZ program, now called Explorer, within the framework of the Entrepreneurship Program of the Universitat de València Empren +. The programme is aimed at attracting and promoting the talent of young people between 18 and 31 years old with innovative business ideas.

The deadline to participate in the programme will remain open until 2:00 p.m. on 8 December 2017, and those interested in developing their business idea and aiming for a prize, will have to submit their candidacy through a form available in  www.explororbyx.org

The initiative represents the evolution of Santander YUZZ, a program that in its eight previous editions has boosted the projects of more than 4,200 young entrepreneurs and has generated hundreds of companies throughout the country.

The Universitat de València has participated as Santander YUZZ Program Centre for three consecutive years and from this edition, the Explorer Program becomes part of Santander X, a new entrepreneurial community; more international and open to everyone. This platform will provide the opportunity to connect with universities and entrepreneurs from around the world and access resources and contacts facilitating the progress of the projects.

Explorer Programme

The 20 selected projects will be included in the programme completely free of charge and may benefit from access to the Explorer Space of the Universitat de València. During the five months of length of the programme, candidates will have physical space to develop their idea. They will be in contact with other entrepreneurs and will receive training from a network of more than 200 professional experts who will guide them, along with an individual tutor, in the carrying out of the more viable business plan for each project. The training process will take place in the afternoons, between one and two sessions per week.

Once the training and a advising process is finished, the best entrepreneur in each of the Explorer Spaces will make a trip to Silicon Valley, the worldwide innovation mecha in the field of new technologies, where they will be given access to financing forums, advice on internationalization and contact with investors.

Furthermore, the best three projects throughout the country will receive an economic endowment to help them to start up their business: 30.000 € for the first prize, 20.000 € for the second one and 10.000 € for the third one. On the other hand, thanks to the cooperation with the EY Foundation, the programme also has the Woman Explorer Award which offers 20,000 € to finance the best project led by a woman entrepreneur.
