The performer Abel Azcona opens a retrospective with a conference in the UV

The Faculty of Geography and History holds on Tuesday the presentation of a retrospective about the performer Abel Azcona that is available on the platform Museari. On this occasion, the artist will offer a conference about his career during the morning and a performance in the afternoon. The talk “La Línea de tu Espalda” will be at 12 hours in the F.3.4. classroom of the centre and it will be presented by the dean Ester Alba and by the vice-dean for Culture, Miguel Requena.

During the conference, Abel Azcona will talk about his trajectory and his future projects as the representative of the process art (www.abelazcona.com). This artist, who is very provocative and active on international art spaces and on social networks (only on Twitter he has 300 000 followers) was chosen by the English press as the best performance artist in 2014.

‘Abel Azcona. La línea de tu Espalda” is the first retrospective of this performer that is opened in ‘Museari. Museo del Imaginario’ www.museari.com, which is why the performer visits Valencia on Tuesday 17 January, on the Sant Antoni festivity. Museari is an online museum, a non-profit permanent institution at the service of society and open to the public that acquires, preserves, studies, exhibits and spreads its heritage.

In the afternoon, the artist will perform at 17 hours in the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Universitat Politècnica de València. It is about a participatory action in which the public is expected to take part actively. The event will be submitted by the dean of the faculty José Luis Cueto and the vice-dean for Culture, Ricardo Forriols.

The activities has been organised by the Institute of Educational Creativity and Innovation of the Universitat de València, together with the Cultural pedagogies research group Creari.
