The Autonomic Championships of University Sports (CADU) in individual sports continue and the UV continues to accumulate successes. The UV was the organizer of the sailing tournament held in Calpe, where it won silver. In swimming, 9 golds, 10 silvers and 15 bronzes for the team of the UV athletes. And in karate, 8 golds, 8 silvers and 8 bronzes.

The University of Valencia (UV), the University of Alicante (UA), the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) and the Cardenal Herrera University (CEU) competed last March 9 in the CADU sailing competition held at the Calpe Yacht Club, which was organized by the UV. "The competition took place without incident, with optimal weather conditions in which the protagonist was the strong westerly wind, with ups and downs of power and with many changes in wind direction that offered us a fast, tactical and of great sporting value regatta," explained Carlos Navarro, responsible for the organization of the championship with Yolanda Belda, both UVesports technicians.

The races consisted of fleet races, in which everyone competes at the same time with boats of the Tom 28 class, of 8.5m in length. There were a total of 6 races in which the UV sailing team, led by Juan Calvo, finished in second place in the overall standings, only surpassed by the UPV. On board the UV boat, the 5 athletes -3 women and 2 men-, made a great tactical effort and managed to overcome the UA and CEU in all the races.

The swimming championship was held at the Ricardo Ten municipal sports center in Benimaclet, organized by the CEU Cardenal Herrera University, on March 9. Under the orders of coaches Diego Encarnación and Paola Pastor, the team of 48 UV swimmers achieved the 1st position in the general classification of universities with a total of 34 medals (9 golds, 10 silvers and 15 bronzes). In addition, 9 university records were broken by Mikel Bonal (in 50, 100 and 200 Breaststroke), Lola Caballero (50 Free), Nuria Payola (200 Free), Paula González (50 and 10 butterfly and 200 styles) and Carolina Pradas (100 Styles).

The karate CADU took place at the Sport palace of the Miguel Hernández University, in Elche, last Saturday, March 11. The UV karate team, directed by Arturo Olmedo, also took the victory in the general classification of universities, thanks to the great work of the team of 23 karateka who gave their all in the modalities of kumite and kata.  In total, 8 gold medals - Marta Ten, Víctor Rubio, Sergio Renovell, Alba Quiles, María Hidalgo, Iván Ferrer and Insaf Bentama-Serroukh -, 8 silver medals - Sara Badia, Aldara García, Marcos Goda, Jorge Hueso, Araceli Montés, Blanca Ruiz, Paula Sanz and Albert Segarra - and 8 bronze medals - Rubén Martínez, Caribe Lorenzo, Pedro Hernández, Marta Goda, Raúl Francés, África Fernández and Óscar Agustí.
