The Cultural Observatory of the University of Valencia organized the conference 'ingovernable Culture: cultural autonomy as a democratic necessity', on February 23rd, at the Aula Magna of the Cultural Center La Nau, which was given by the politician, art historian, cultural manager and researcher Jazmín Beirak.

Beirak will be presented by the Observatory's academic director, Raúl Abeledo, in an activity that will reflect on one of the main challenges facing public cultural policies today: the protection and promotion of the cultural rights of citizens.

In this sense, "the invitation made by the politician, art historian, cultural manager and researcher in cultural policies Jazmín Beirak Ulanosky is, precisely, to ungovern culture," the organization pointed out, "to regulate institutions because they do not regulate culture. A proposal that implies "promoting public commitment to culture with the aim of assuring the autonomy required to promote its independence".
