Presentation of the Carmen Izquierdo Besante Foundation awards

These awards honour the best academic records of the first degrees’ year by areas of knowledge. In this edition, the students of the first year of the 2022-2023 academic year participated according to the following figures: 1,000 students in the area of Arts and Humanities; 1,159 in the area of Sciences, Engineering and Architecture; 4,259 in the area of Social and Legal Sciences; and 1,749 in the area of Health Sciences.

The Universitat and the Carmen Izquierdo Besante Foundation presented the annual awards to the students who have obtained the best academic record in each of the branches of knowledge after the first academic year of their degree.

This year's winners were: in the Health Sciences category, Nerea Ortolá, Psychology student; in the Arts and Humanities category, Medea Márquez, Philosophy student; in the Social and Legal Sciences category, Marc Forcadell, Law student; and in the Sciences, Engineering and Architecture category, Luís Carrillo, Mathematics student. All of them were awarded a prize of €500.

The principal of the Universitat de València, M. Vicenta Mestre, congratulated the four students and their families and encouraged them to continue on the path of hard work and effort, which will lead to success in the future.

Javier Pastor, secretary of the Foundation, also congratulated the students. He highlighted that this award is a little boost to keep the hard, excellent work.

The award winners were accompanied by their families and by representatives of the dean's teams of their faculties, such as the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences, Salvador Moll; the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Educational Sciences, Rosa María Bo; the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology and Speech Therapy, Antonio Ferrer; and the Vice-Dean of Academic Coordination, Institutional Relations and Communication of the Faculty of Law, Rosario Serra.
