Presented the awards of the local phase of the 53rd Spanish Mathematical Olympiad

The Faculty of Mathematics of the Universitat de València has hosted the awards ceremony of the 53rd Spanish Mathematical Olympiad (local phase). An activity organised by the two public universities in Valencia. This competition is aimed at students enrolled in the second year of Bachillerato.

The winners of the Universitat de València are Rafah Hajjar Muñoz (IES Camp de Túria de Llíria), Gema Martínez de la Fuente (IES Número Uno de Requena) and Jaime Mateo Cárcel (IES Número Uno de Requena). The Universitat Politècnica has awarded Félix Moreno Peñarrubia (IES La Eliana), Alberto Fernández Hernández (IES Faustí Barberá, de Alaquàs) and Ana Mª Sánchez Martínez (IES Número Uno de Requena).

Mathematical Olympiads are international and have several phases in which thousands of students participate individually. Apart from aiming for local awards, they can also participate in the national, Ibero-American and international phases.
