Professor Joaquín Camps, winner of the 2019 novel award ‘Azorín’

Professor Joaquín Camps has won the ‘Azorín’ Award for his novel La silueta del Olvido. Camps is a professor in the Department of Business Management ‘Juan José Renau Piqueras’ at the Faculty of Economics of the Universitat de València. The ‘Azorín’ award is one of the most prestigious award regarding literature written in Spanish.

Being PhD in Economic Sciences and Management Sciences in the Universitat de València, his field of study and teaching is focused on human resources and organisational behaviour.  He published his research works in prestigious journals such as Human Resource Management, Journal of Economic Geography, Personnel Review, International Journal of Human Resource Management, British Journal of Management, Journal of Business Ethics.

La Silueta del Olvido is a crime novel whose main character is an investigator of the police, Claudia Carreras. She can’t walk properly and this condition increases ‘when she is in front of the boy she likes’, according to what he said when he received the award.

The Azorín Award, which implies winning 45,000 euros, is promoted by the Regional Government of Alicante and the publisher Alianza. This year there were 215 candidate works.  Joaquín Camps had already published the novel La última confidencia del escritor Hugo Mendoza.
