Professor José Miguel Láinez has been re-elected as vice-president of the Society of Neurology
Valencian neurologist José Miguel Láinez, who is the Head of Service at the Hospital Clínico Universitario de València and professor at the Universitat de València, has been re-elected as first vice-president and spokesperson for Institutional Relationships of the Management Board at the Sociedad Española de Neurología (SEN).

According to a statement made by SEN, it is formed by more than 3,000 members. Among them, we can find most of Spanish Neurology specialists and other Health professionals interested in Neurology.
As responsible of Institutional Relationships, Láinez will continue coordinating this area of the SEN. This means coordinating neurology societies from different Autonomous Communities, public and private entities or organisms.
This Valencian neurologist will be also in charge of the Committee for Ethics and Deontology of the SEN, the Committee “ad hoc” for Rare Diseases and the Editorial Policy Committee.
The SEN informs that Láinez is also a Neurology professor at the Universitat de València and a chairman at the Real Academia de Medicina y Ciencias Afines of the Valencian Community.
As a Neurology specialist and a doctor in Medicine, he has published more than 300 articles in books or magazines of speciality. He has been author or editor of 14 books and has presented several hundreds of talks in multiple national and international conferences and meetings.
In addition, he is a member of the board of directors at the Sociedad Valenciana de Neurología, the Sociedad Española de Neurología and the European Federation of Neurological Societies. He is the president of the European Headache Federation, a member of the Executive Committee at the International Headache Society and the coordinator of the study group for cephalea at the Sociedad Española de Neurología.
José Miguel Láinez belongs to multiple scientific societies at a national and international scope such as the American Academy of Neurology, the European Stroke Council or the American Headache Society. He is also a Fellow Member and Corresponding Member of the American Neurological Association.
