Professor Juan Sánchez brings out a book about the forest soils in Valencia
On Tuesday, the book ‘Els sòls forestals de la Comunitat Valenciana. Catàleg de perfils representatius’ will be presented in the Burjassot-Paterna Campus of the Universitat de València. The book has been written by Juan Sánchez Díaz, professor of Soil Science in the Universitat de València and researcher in the CIDE. The event will take place at noon at the Darwin Room of the Inter-faculties room in the Faculty of Pharmacy.

The publication gathers the characterisation and tracking of forest soils after 40 years of study, as well as their origin and evolution as a basis for studying their degradation and restoration. 11 groups of reference soils (GSR) are described presented as a catalogue of 101 profiles. Thus, it is highlighted that there is a need of knowing the level of excellence, the environmental quality and the fragility of some soils.
