Luis Moya, Professor of Psychobiology at the Universitat de València, will present his new book Educar en la empatía: el antidoto contra el bullying (Educating in empathy: the antidote against bullying) on Wednesday 27th November at 6 p.m. in the Paraninfo of La Nau Cultural Centre. The event, which will be presided over by the Principal of the Universitat de València, Maria Vicenta Mestre, will have the participation of Mercé Garrigues, teacher of Primary Education; Vicente Alfonso, Professor in the Developmental and Educational Psychology Department at the Universitat de València, and Ángela Beleña, professor in the Department of Personality, Evaluation and Psychological Treatment at the Universitat.

Through this book, Moya, who has published more than 150 works in scientific journals and books and has contributed to scientific dissemination on television, radio and paper media, aims to sensitize its readers to the issue of bullying, a social problem that continues to grow in our classrooms. That is why Educar en la empatía proposes an educational model based on mutual understanding as an antidote to bullying, since the more empathy a person has, the less he or she will use violence to resolve conflicts.

The psychobiologist, who is currently conducting research focusing on violence, social stress and empathy, believes that educating in empathy, respect, solidarity and free thinking is the path to a cooperative and altruistic society. On his book, Moya explains how to make more empathetic people through small actions that we all can do both at home and at school.

Luis Moya is also the author of other books such as the university manual Neurocriminología (2015), La empatía en la empresa (2016), Escucha tu cerebro (2015) and La empatía (2018).
