Rankings are the tools to improve and drive strategically the universities: this is the title of one of the seminars of a working day organised by BBVA Foundation and Ivie. This seminar is taking place in ADEIT on 24th of November. «The continued presence of these rankings during the life of the Spanish universities justifies a deep reflection about what they mean to the universities, which are the areas that can be improved and how can be useful to the strategic direction of the institutions»,the bosses of the act explains.

This seminar «aims to contribute» to a reflection about the results of the university activities in Spain through the information and the analysis that are available. These results take into account the lessons from experiences and practices. With all these, the experts can think about the importance of the rankings to improve the capacity of the university system nowadays so in that sense they can answer the demands of the knowledge society and the productive model that needs to be based «increasingly» on the use of human capital.

The seminar will also talk  about the U-Ranking that was elaborated five years ago by BVVA Foundation and Ivie. This ranking has generated some monographs about the working and the trajectory of the Spanish universities system.

In this working day some experts from different Spanish universities such as the University Of Valencia, the Polytechnic University of Valencia, the University of Girona, the University of Vigo and the University of Granada will participate. They are going to debate about the employability of the graduates through an analysis that has been made about the differences between universities and their causes. The seminar is aimed to professionals of the strategy, of the programming and of the working of the universities institutions and the education politics –it does not matter if they are public of private-. It can also be useful to people that are interested in university activities and labour insertion processes, to teachers, media and educational policy analysts.
