The Technologies of the Geographical Information GROUP (TIG) of the Association of Spanish Geographers (AGE) and the Department of Geography of the Universitat de València with the Geographic School collaboration has organised this congress that will last from tomorrow morning until 22th of july. It tries to become the place where institutions, companies and the scientific staff speak about the advances in the field of observation, access and analysis of geographic information.

It is important to say that there are some practical workshops prepared. They will deal about different topics as the image processing Sentinel-2 and Sentinel-3 or the updating of land occupation databases through object-based techniques. They will explain how works the Observatori Ciutadà de l’Horta, the virtual platforms for the didactic of geography in schools and the new commercial software like ArcGIS or ESRI and the free ones as gvSIG or Miramon.

The event will have some professionals as Giancarlo Filipazzo who is coordinator of the Copernicus Programme of the European Space Agency (ESA), Paul Longley who is professor of the Geography Department in the University College London, Noelia Pérez and Francisco Sánchez who work in the Geographic National Institute (IGN), etc. All of them will be the protagonists of the conference of this congress.
