The Department of Catalan Studies has organised the seminar ‘La carrera investigadora: realidades y opciones’ (The researcher career: facts and options), by Anna Pineda (CNRS-IKER). The event on Monday 13 March is specially addressed to the graduates that work as researchers or that are doing a doctoral programme in the Faculty of Language Studies, Translation and Communication. The seminar will start at 18:00 in the classroom 702 of that Faculty.

In this meeting, Ana Pineda will speak about the different possibilities of an inexperienced individual in researching both if he has begun to research (master’s degree students or graduates) or if he already has certain experience (period previous to doctoral studies) to continue with the researching career beyond the thesis. With a completely practical approach, Pineda will speak about those topics that the inexperienced individuals in researching should take into account from day one such as what counts and what doesn’t count; to what kind of congresses do you have to attend; what do you have to publish and where; and why do you need to do overseas stay. That is to say, everything important to have access to the existing opportunities both abroad or in Spain to consolidate a researching career or a university professor career once the thesis is finished.
