The solemn act took place on 1 of June with the assistance of academic and family representatives of the new graduates.

Silvia Barona was Vice-principal for Communication and Institutional Relationships of the University between 2010 and 2014.  She is an honoured doctor by the Swedish Örebro University, the president of the Arbitration and Mediation Court of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Sailing of Valencia, and director of the MedArb Group of the Universitat de València, which is linked to the research and professional networks of national and international experts in ADR (extra-jurisdictional conflict resolution)

Barona has focused most of her research activity to promote mediation and arbitration in the conflict resolution framework. She has published 17 books and has participated in 600 collective works, some of which have been directed by her.
