The Sky Room opens this Thursday the exhibition of Astreconcurs 2025
The Sky Room, the didactic cabinet of the Astronomical Observatory of the Universitat de València, opens this Thursday 5 June the exhibition of works of the AstreConcurs 2025, a competition themed as astronomical aimed to the primary and secondary educative community. The exhibition is on display at the Museum of Natural History (MUVHN) of the academic institution.

This exhibition compile works about art and science presented at the AstreConcurs 2025, an initiative that aims not only stimulate the primary and secondary students’ curiosity towards science, in particular to astronomy, but also to recognise the word of teacher in the dissemination of these. In fact, the competition has opened the participation to teachers, with two different categories of entries for the prize.
In this edition there were around 50 proposals - individual and collective - from 10 education centres of the ValencianCommunity. The prizes will be published on 17 June 2025.
All the participants in the works selected in the competition will enjoy a visit to the Aras de los Olmos Astronomical Observatory, an observation station of the University of Valencia located in an area declared a Starlight Reserve by UNESCO and considered one of the 15 best places on the planet to observe the stars.
The sample opens this Thursday 5 June in the Natural History Museum of the Universitat de València, at 18:00h, and will be opened until the 15 June.
The organiser and curator entity of the exhibition is the Sky Room of the Astronomical Observatory, with the collaboration of the Natural History Museum of the UV and the Department of Education, Culture, Universities and Employment of the Generalitat Valenciana.
