Spanish language courses for Ukrainian refugees continue

More than 100 refugees are learning in the Spanish courses in the UV. Next week 47 more refugees will join this intensive formation and the University will extend the offer to Valencian courses.

On the 12th of April the Universitat de València presented and started the Spanish courses for refugees from the war in Ukraine. The courses, which are being thought at the Languages Centre of the University and that have the collaboration of Davina Seguros, are educating more than 100 people in 6 different groups, and 47 new students in 3 more groups are expected to join on May 9.

This intensive courses have a duration of two months and will enable the students to acquire levels A1 to A2. This will make it possible to break down one of the mot important barriers that refugees face: the language.

Additionally, from the 13th of this month all the students that want to learn Valencian will be able to do it in courses with compatible schedules with the Spanish courses. In this way, they will have all the necessary tools to integrate into a bilingual society such as ours.

At the same time, a group of volunteers of the University offer a play centre to take care of the little ones while their mothers and fathers are taking the class so they can take advantage of all the aspects of the course.
