The meeting was led by the president of Crue I+D+i and rector of the University of Córdoba, José Carlos Gómez Villamandos, and has been co-organised by the University of the Balearic Islands. The conference was inaugurated on November 29 by the President of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Francina Armengol; together with the Secretary General of Universities, José Manuel Pingarrón, and the rector of the University of the Balearic Islands, Llorenç Huguet. The event was also attended by other representatives of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities; of the European Commission; of the State Agency of Investigation; of the FECYT; of the European University Association; of the Government of the Balearic Islands and of different entrepreneurs in the technological field.

About 450 managers, technicians and researchers in the universities – from the vice-rector for Research and Transfer, the Network of Research Results Transfer Offices (RedOTRI), the Network of Research Management Units (RedUGI), the Network of Dissemination and Scientific Culture (RedDIVULGA) and the Network of European R + D + i Offices– have addressed current issues related to university research. In the presentations and discussion tables, important aspects such as advances in Open Science, the University-business collaboration, the Spanish Supercomputing Network, the different application models of the Law of Public Sector Contracts or the recruitment programs of talent and resources in European calls were discussed.
