The sports volunteering courses for students at the Unviersitat de València are back

The 13th of September is the deadline to register for the “València Sports Volunteering” programme, which aims to provide volunteers with the necessary knowledge and skills to carry out their work in sporting events held in the city of Valencia.

If you are a student of the Universitat de València and you like sports, you can now sign up for sports volunteering courses offered byUVsportsalong with theOficina de Voluntariat Esportiu (Valencian for Sports Volunteering Office) of theFundació Esportiva Municipal de València (Valencian for Municipal Sports Foundation of València).

Sports volunteering is a way of putting your skills to the test, becoming an agent of social change and health promotion, and enjoying sport at first hand. In addition, by volunteering you can take part in the major events held in the city of Valencia, such as the Trinidad Alfonso Valencia Marathon, the 15k Open to the Sea, the 15k Nocturnal Race or the València circuit of popular races.

It is an opportunity where you can learn from the inside how the organisation of a major sporting event works, support the athletes and carry out tasks such as course control, access to boxes, refreshments, cloakroom and bib distribution. In addition, at all events you will receive the corresponding volunteer kit with T-shirt, corporate gifts or merchandising of the race.

The course, of 30 teaching hours, are recognised with ECTS credits for those students who register through UVsports. The courses consist of a theoretical training of 6 hours, which will take place at the Petxina Sports Complex in Valencia, and a practical training of 24 hours, which will take place during the different events offered.

The dates of the courses for the first four-month period are as follows:

  • 1st-Course Nocturnal 15K: 27th September to 13th November
  • 2nd-Popular Races Course 4: from 13th October to 6th November
  • 3rd-Popular Races Course 5: from November 3rd to November 27th
  • 4th-València Marathon Course: from 29th November to 4th December

Enrolment is open from 13th September, until the 25 places on offer for each course are filled.
