The start of the academic year 2019-20 at Ontinyent Campus
The Echegaray Theatre of La Vall de Albaida held the start of the academic year at Ontinyent Campus celebrated on Tuesday 29th. The act was presided by the commemoration of the 30th Anniversary of the first class of Business Management.

The act of the start of the academic year 2019-2020 at Ontinyent Campus has been presided by the Principal of the Universitat, M.ª Vicenta Mestre, with the Mayor of Ontinyent, Jorge Rodríguez, and the President of Caixa Ontinyent, Antonio Carbonell. The masterful lecture has been given by the popular surgeon specialised in reconstructions and transplants, Pedro Cavadas, who has talked about ethics, education and health service in a lecture with large audience.
Also, Jorge Hermosilla, the vice-principal of Territorial Projection and Society; General manager of the Universitat, Juan Vicente Climent; the Dean of Nursing, Antoni Merelles; the Director of Ontinyent Campus, José Cantó; members of the PDI (teaching and research staff), members of the PAS (Administrative and Service Staff) and students of Ontinyent Campus as well as representatives of the civil society, business and unions organisations of the La Vall d’Albaida district have attended.
In her speech, the Principal M.ª Vicenta Mestre has announced that the Science Park of Universitat de València will be set in Ontinyent, ‘a science park that completes the gap of innovation and the knowledge transfer as one of the main structure of the university activity’. ‘We will keep working to go forward in this campus, which is at the forefront of the presence in the territory of a public university, Valencian, leader in internationalisation, such as the Universitat de València’.
