Startup Day 2025 brings together more than a hundred companies and organisations from the agri-food sector at the UV Science Park

Around one hundred startups, spin-offs and organisations from the agri-biotech sector are taking part this Wednesday 28 May in Startup Day 2025 – a day dedicated to promoting innovation, entrepreneurship and knowledge transfer in this area of the economy. Organised by the AgrotecUV incubator (UV-PCUV) and the Biovegen platform, the event aims to explore the current landscape of the sector through contributions from professionals in science, business and public-private management.

The eventhas been opened by the vice-rector for Innovation at the University of Valencia, Rosa Maria Donat, the director of the UV Science Park (PCUV), Pedro Carrasco, and the president of Biovegen, José Pellicer. The regional secretary for Innovation, Jerónimo Mora, has closed the event after a day that will showcase the startups newly incorporated to AgrotecUV, the University of Valencia’s high-tech incubator for sustainable agri-food.

The event also provide an overview of the agri-food sector in Spain, covering everything from technological trends in businesses and R&D centres to the most in-demand professional profiles, among other topics. The programme also features presentations of various successful business cases supported by AgrotecUV and of leading research projects, as well as a round table discussion on innovation and collaboration in entrepreneurship.

Organised by the AgrotecUV/Biovegen partnership and conceived as an opportunity to foster connections between agents in the agri-food ecosystem, Startup Day 2025: Catalysing Agri-Food Innovation includes dedicated spaces for networking among the more than 150 registered participants – over a hundred of them companies.

AgrotecUV is a high-tech incubator for sustainable agri-food promoted by the University of Valencia and the University of Valencia Science Park Foundation. Its main goal is to promote the creation and growth of knowledge-based agrotech and foodtech companies.

Biovegen is a public-private technology platform aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of the agri-food sector through the development of plant biology-based technologies.

The event will be held this Wednesday 28 May at the Marie Curie Auditorium of the University of Valencia Science Park.
